Napsa stars to finish on top 4-Coach

Napsa Stars coach Mohamed Fathi is upbeat his team will finish in the top four despite losing to Green Buffaloes on Sunday.

The soldiers edged Pensioners 2-1 at Nkoloma Stadium courtesy of Friday Samu and Nicholas Mulilo goals.

Fathi said in a post-match interview that his charges still have a lot of games to play and will stay focused.

“We tried to perform well, we missed a lot of chances but I think there was confusion in the second half. From my view, that penalty was not a penalty. I can’t interfere in the games scenario,” he said.

Napsa are third from bottom with 27 points and have four games in hand.

The Egyptian also bemoaned the standard of officiating during the game against Buffaloes.

And Buffalo’s coach Justin Chinama said the win is a step in the right direction as they aim to move away from relegation troubles.

Chinama said winning three wins in a row will build confidence in the team.

“The players have responded to instructions that we have been giving them hence recording these wins. We only pray that they don’t relax because we still have a huge task ahead of us, so if we can be consistent of which we have been lacking behind, then it’s a good sign for us,” he said.

Prior to beating Napsa, Buffaloes also recorded wins against Young Green Eagles 1-0 and Buildcon 2-0.

Buffaloes have 32 points.
