A week after sending Kelvin Kaindu on a three-weeks paid leave, struggling Super Division Nkana have re-appointed Beston ‘Quicksilver’ Chambeshi as head coach.

Chambeshi, a Nkana legend returns to his beloved club for the fourth time in his  coaching career

“It was not an easy decision to make to come back but I believe I belong to this team and my blood is Nkana, so I decided to come back and help the team,” said Chambeshi, who resigned from his position at National Division One outfit Kansanshi Dynamos last week.

Nkana acting chief executive officer Kapwepwe Mutale said in a statement issued by club media and public relations officer Lillian Musenge that the decision to bring back Chambeshi is aimed at improving the performance of the team.

“The development is aimed at improving the team’s performance and repositioning the club towards finishing in a respectable position at the end of the 2020/2021 MTN Super League,” Mutale said.

Mutale has since urged all stakeholders to give Chambeshi maximum support in his crusade to once again bring the glory days back to the City of Kitwe and in particular Nkana Stadium.

Kaindu was sent of leave after Nkana shockingly lost 2-1 rivals Kitwe United in a Kitwe derby last Wednesday.

Chambeshi’ last stint at Nkana was from June 2017 to December 2019.

His immediate task at Nkana will be to ensure the celebrated side, who are second from bottom survive relegation.
