Masked bandits snatch K151, 000 cash from Total

Five criminals on Monday got away with K151, 000 after they managed to stage a robbery at Total Filling Station opposite Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The bandits, who were wearing masks, armed with an AK-47 and a pick tied the workers among fuel attendants in the toilet before executing their plan.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Elias Chushi confirmed that the robbers attacked the filling station around 02:00 hours on Monday and got cash from a safe.

“Aggravated Robbery occurred on Monday at about 02:00 at Levy Mwanawasa Total Filling Station, Ndola. Belinda Mwanza aged 42 reported that her workers, two fuel attendants and one security guard were robbed K151,090 by five armed male criminals who were armed with an AK 47 Rifle.

“Whilst on duty Alick Siuluta, 40, a security guard of Composit Security Company and two fuel attendants , were attacked and bundled in the toilet where they were tied,” he said.

Mr Chushi said the criminals, who were wearing masks entered into the shop, broke the safe using a pick and went away with the money.

He said one prominent suspect is tall and slim while others are of medium height.
