Directed of Engineering at Chingola Municipal Council has been arrested for allegedly stealing culverts, the properties of Chingola Municipal Council.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Elias Chushi said Derrick Maluma of Chingola Central is alleged to have stolen the culverts whose value is not yet known.
Mr Chushi said Maluma in March 2021, looted culverts at former Avic International premises in Riverside area.
He said the culverts are properties of Chingola Municipal Council which he later sold to Etspan investment of Chingola.
He said a follow up was made and confirmed that the culverts in question have been installed at the Entrance point of Etspan Investment premises along Chingola-Kitwe road opposite Zalawi mining Haulage in Chingola.
Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo said he was aware and the local authority had left everything in the hands of police.
