Maposa Nkhuwa motivates Chingola Leopards

Chingola Constituency aspiring Parliamentary candidate Maposa Nkhuwa was in attendance when Chingola Leopards silenced Chingola Police Blue Stars 1-0 in the Chingola derby played on Sunday afternoon in the mining town.

The Chiwempala outfit ended their winless drought in the FAZ Copperbelt Division One League against the Police side after going nine games without a win.

The team had been on this trajectory of dry spell until yesterday when Maposa visited the dressing room with K10, 000 cash as a winning bonus.

The incentive motivated the players who are owed salary arrears by club owners Chingola Council.

Club Chairperson Gift Chinula said the money from Maposa was a boost to the players.

“May I on behalf of Chingola Leopards FC and indeed on my own behalf to sincerely thank Maposa Nkhuwa for his timely and inspiring contribution he made to the team just before the game. His Contribution of K10, 000 cash to be shared amongst the players was a very huge boost,” Chinula said.

“This came as an unexpected surprise and motivated our players who had put the very best and managed to get a goal. We thank you so much Nkhuwa and we shall live to remember your gesture sir,” he said.

And Mapopa said Chingola Leopards FC is one of the highly talented teams on the Copperbelt.

“The K10, 000 may appear little but it gave us a win today. I have been supporting this team as a committee member and through various donations such as jerseys and lawn mowing using my company Oldspring. Icon

Hotel has also donated jerseys which the boys wore today.”

“Whether it is Matty Investments, Oldspring or Icon hotel, the Nkhuwas will always plough back to the community. The vision for the incumbent Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa is to empower viable clubs that can create employment for our youths and football is one such large employer,” he said.

“I have applied for the position of MP for Chingola Constituency and if adopted and elected, then I will be able to render further support. I believe together we can achieve more,” Maposa said.
