United Party for National Development (UPND) has called on Zambians not to be duped and bullied by PF corruption money and propaganda of using state institutions and other private surrogate media outlets.
UPND Deputy Secretary General Patrick Mucheleka said that PF are parading huge numbers of fake defectors from the UPND to join PF.
Mr Mucheleka said that this is an exhibition of desperation, insecurity and lack of confidence for a party that claims unprecedented popularity.
“We have noted a growing trend where the PF are behaving like a boxer who declares they are winning a contest by tying the hands and legs of their opponents in the boxing ring.
We have also noted a heightened PF propaganda machinery abusing state owned media like ZNBC where they are daily parading huge numbers of fake defectors from the UPND to join PF,” he said.
Mr Mucheleka said PF is freely holding their mobilization meetings around the country, while UPND is being tightened blocked and arrested by the police for carrying out party activities around the country.
He said it is sad to note that a lot of UPND people were arrested in Eastern Province for sensitizing citizens to verify their voters registration details as demanded by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
He said that Media houses are also scared to host UPND members as PF are attacking radio stations and intimidating media personnel who host opposition political party officials.
