Nchanga Rugby Club edge Mufulira hunters

Nchanga Rugby Club has kicked off the 2021 National Rugby League with a 13-5 win over Mufulira Hunters.

The Rampant Lions of Nchanga showed improvement in this Week One match by beating a Mufulira team boosting many stars.

It was a time of redemption for Nchanga, who lost to Diggers, last week in the season opening traditional match at home in Chingola.

In a post-match interview, Nchanga Rugby coach Ugo Chisenga who congratulated the winning team says the game was well played though the players lacked fitness.

Chisenga says both teams were focused with full potential and energy.

He says the only lacking element is motivation and equipment for the team.

Chisenga has called players to work on their confidence and fitness.

And Nchanga captain Nicholas Kangwa has applauded the team for the job well done.

He says there is a need for more practice and effort for the team to do better.

And Mufulira Captain Vincent Mwanza who also congratulated Nchanga for the win and called for continued motivation of players.

Mwanza lamented that ever since Covid 19 hit the country, support has not been up to the standard.
