United Party for National Development UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has called on the PF Government to pay retirees their benefits and save them from premeditated and desperate economic ridicule and despair.
Mr Hichilema said it is offensive for the PF regime to expose retirees to a life of perpetual poverty and destitution by refusing to pay them their retirement benefits.
He said UPND is saddened that the PF is destroying the fabric of the Zambian Economy and making it difficult for the poor to find food or afford healthcare.
Mr Hichilema said the regime has also entrenched corruption and wasteful public spending at the expense of settling the long-standing benefits of retirees in the country.
He said the questions is what was such a critical urgency for the PF to spend over $210m of borrowed money on surveillance equipment aimed at silencing democracy, hile failing to pay retirees.
Mr Hichilema said given the mandate to rule the country paying of benefits to retirees will be a priority.
