Chingola oral cancer patient seeking help

A family of Chingola’s Buyantanshi Township is calling on government and other well-wishers to urgently help them with financial support to take their son who is grappling with oral cancer, also known as mouth cancer to India for plastic surgery.

Father to the patient, Edwin Mpundu said his son Boyd aged 22, a first year student at Evelyn Hone College pursuing a diploma in Biomedical Science, was last year diagnosed with Mouth Cancer and has undergone medical services at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where he was referred to India for plastic surgery.

Mr Mpundu said that as a family they have done all they could and are now financially strained and cannot manage to raise the sum of two hundred thousand kwacha needed for his son’s surgery.

He said coming on board by government and other well-wishers will greatly bridge the huge gap his family has been subjected too in raising the needed amount of money.

Mr Mpundu said that his son (Boyd) only attended classes for 6 months and could not continue because of the cancer which just started like a small pimple but continued growing.

He added that any help rendered to the family to meet the cost will be highly appreciated/ZANIS.
