MDC wants power vested in voters not president

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Movement  for Democratic Change (MDC) Secretary General Lucky Mulusa says the party has walked a fruitful path from the time they launched it.

Speaking ahead of the party National Peoples Conference which is being held in all 10 provinces, Mr Mulusa said MDC wants power vested in the voters not the president.

He said the party will be electing members to the national committee, trustees and the president.

“Once we elect the NEC people will be elected within the NEC to various positions. This is so to avoid having a very powerful president.  So far only two people have shown interest to be president, one is Elias Phiri and the other is the incumbent Felix Mutati who will be seeking election,” he said
