Napsa ready for RS Berkane-Fathi

By CHINOYI CHIPULU
NAPSA stars coach Mohamed Fathi has declared his team ready for this evenings CAF Confederation Cup Group B encounter against Moroccan side RS Berkane billed for Stade Municipal de Berkane.

Napsa, who are making their debut in continental football, reached the group stages after eliminating Kenyan side Gor Mahia 3-2 on aggregate.

Fathi said his charges will have to work hard in order to beat the defending champions.

RS Berkane are the Confederation Cup reigning champions.

“We have already prepared the team and psychologically spoken to them. They know what they are supposed to do, we have already analysed Barkane and we are very ready for the game.

“I told them to play without fear. I always tell them that if you fear the opponents especially on this level, you will not manage to play football and you will not have a future. If you win, you will have tomorrow but if you lose, there is no tomorrow,” he said.

Striker Emmanuel Mayuka says the team will approach the game with a winning mentality despite facing the champions.

With the pensioners on the verge of elimination, former international Mayuka converted a penalty at death to send them through to lucrative group stage at the expense of Gor Mahia.

“I feel proud, I know I can do even much better and I want to lead as an example to young players in our team and I will be there to show them the way. And each player is putting in effort so we are positive we will reach very far,” he said.

Mayuka has so far netted four goals in the competition for Fathi’s team.
