ABSA Cup bounces back

By Mercy Chewe
All is set for the launch and making of draws for the 2021 ABSA Cup on Thursday in Lusaka.

The ABSA Cup returns this year after failing to take place in 2020 owing to the impact of Covid-19.

Konkola Blades and Kansanshi Dynamos from the National League are in the quarterfinal draws alongside FAZ Super Division giants Zesco United, Zanaco, Forest Rangers, Lusaka Dynamos, Prison Leopards and Kabwe Warriors.

Ahead of the draws Konkola acting head coach Lewington Mujembe is bubbling with confidence.

“We are ready to face any team. I think there will be no easy opponent,” Mujembe said.

“It will be our chance to test ourselves against the big guns,” Mujembe said.

Zesco United are the ABSA Cup defending champions.
