Congrats UPND, Nalumango

Dear Editor,

I write to commend United Party for National Development (UPND) for firstly holding a successful convention (general assembly) on February 14, 2021.

With the current global Covid 19 pandemic situation, we can only congratulate the party for making sure that all measures to make the party convention successful were put in place.

It is also good to note that there are no complaints coming from UPND party members emanating from that convention that was held virtually in about 10 locations and at the same time, which simply sends a message that the party believes and upholds the outcome of the convention.

I also commend the party NMC for finally settling the matter of the party’s vice presidency which has been unfortunately a thorny in the flesh of non-party members, by appointing Mutale Nalumango.

Ms Nalumango is indeed a tested person of high calibre who even served as the Deputy Speaker of National Assembly of Zambia at one time and has steadfastly served the party diligently and without fear or favor.

It should also be noted that the appointment is not a one man show but was a consensus of the party’s hierarchy for a common purpose, to move forward.

To Ms Nalumango, congratulations for the appointment as you continue your strides of uniting the party and being civil in your political front.

Don’t promise to do everything, but strive to make positive advancements in the party management as an Iron Lady. Trust and hard work could surely be the benchmarks
