Super Division side Prison Leopards have re-appointed Congolese Ishmael Balanga as new head coach replacing Mwenya Chipepo.
Last week Chipepo walked out on the Zambia Correctional Services sponsored outfit to take up the same role at Indeni.
Balanga returns to Kabwe two years after he was shown the exit door when the team was still campaigning in the Super Division.
Prison announced the re-engagement of Balanga in a brief statement posted on their Facebook page.
“Prison Leopards FC have announced Ishmael Balanga as their new head coach. The Congolese born trainer replaces Mwenya Chipepo, who has since separated with the club on mutual agreement. Welcome back coach Balanga,” read the statement.
Balanga was first appointed Prison coach in 2019 replacing Frank Miti but left after the team was relegated.
Chipepo was elevated to the position of head coach after the departure of Balanga.
The former South Sudan national team trainer will be assisted by Miti and Willie Chalwe, who are first and second assistants while Mulife Sitali and Willie Chinyama are goalkeeper and physical trainers.
Balanga also coached Ndola United prior to moving to Prison in 2019.
Balanga will begin his tenure with an away fixture to Power Dynamos next Wednesday.
He inherits a Prison squad that is fifth on the log with 29 points, four behind leaders Zanaco.
