Lufwanyama residents in relief food

Several Lufwanyama residents who were affected by floods have praised government for providing them with relief food.

The residents thanked government when Lufwanyama District Commissioner Dorothy Chipimpi delivered bags of mealie-meal from the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- to all the residents whose houses collapsed due to heavy rainfall in Chief Nkana’s area.

Angel Shawa said she was very appreciative to government for helping them with mealie-meal .

And Evelyn Nkonde said quick response by government has shown how the leadership of President Edgar Lungu cares for it’s people.

Meanwhile, Ms Chipimpi said government will remain committed to helping the needy in society.

She said it is for this reason that government has responded quickly to the cries of flood victims in the district

Over 30 families were recently left homeless after their houses collapsed due to heavy rainfall in Lufwanyama’s Nkana area.
