Former Zambian High Commissioner to Malawi John Phiri has officially declared interest to stand as Lundazi Central Member of Parliament under the Patriotic Front ticket in this year’s general elections.
The PF Lundazi district and constituency committees have welcomed the candidature of Dr Phiri.
Dr Phiri has served before as a nominated Member of Parliament and Minister of General Education and Minister of Local Government under the PF Government.
He has appealed to Lundazi residents to give him all the necessary support.
Dr Phiri said Lundazi needs an MP that will speak and lobby for them in order to foster development.
He promised to effectively represent his people if adopted by the Central Committee.
