Patriotic Front Lufwanyama Constituency aspiring Parliamentary candidate Don Mungulube says traditional leaders play a key role in rural development.
Mr Mungulube said traditional leaders have the best knowledge on how rural areas can be developed.
He said this after he paid a courtesy call on her Royal Highness Chieftainess Shimukunani of the Lamba Speaking people in Lufwanyama District.
Mr Mungulube and Chieftainess Shimukunani held private talks at her palace.
This is in his continued path of engaging with traditional leaders to share ideas on the best ways of developing rural parts of the Copperbelt.
In an interview later in Lufwanyama, Mr Mungulube who is also PF Copperbelt Youth Chairman said it is imperative to tap wisdom from traditional leaders.
He said traditional leaders are key stakeholders of national Development.
Mr Mungulube said this has been demonstrated by President Edgar Lungu who has engaged traditional leaders in his Development agenda
He said traditional leaders will remain to be the shining stone in promoting traditions and customs.
Mr Mungulube believes that traditional leaders are the custodian of rural development.
“I have held private talks with her Royal Highness. This is to engage the traditional leadership, so that I can appreciate what she is doing in the Chiefdom and also learn what are the key issues that should be done for the youths in Lufwanyama. This is in my continued engagement with traditional leaders to explain the PF policies under the Leadership of President Edgar Lungu,” he said.
