The Zambia National Farmers Union -ZNFU- has commended the Ministry of Agriculture for restricting the importation of onion and potatoes.
ZNFU Media and Public Relations offer Calvin Kaleyi says local producers are capable of meeting local demand.
Mr Kaleyi says this move will help farmers to have an income.
He says continued importation of these commodities has only taken away the jobs that are supposed to be for Zambians.
Mr Kaleyi says ZNFU supports the buy Zambia campaign in order to promote the regulation of imports of certain commodities.
