Zesco United shocked by Young Eagles

Former FAZ Super Division champions Zesco United have remained inconsistent after suffering their fourth loss of the season via 1-0 scoreline at Young Green Eagles in Kafue on Saturday.

Striker Muma Mumba scored the only goal in the 50th minute as Young Eagles shocked Zesco at Khosa Stadium.

Zesco ,coached by Mumamba Numba, remain on 25 points while 16th placed Young Eagles have 16 points after playing 16 matches.

In their last five matches, Zesco United have recorded two losses, two wins and one draw.

Meanwhile, league leaders Zanaco maintained their top position after coming from 2-0 down to beat Prison Leopards 3-2 in Lusaka.

Prison led 2-0 just after 17 minutes with a double from Landu Miete but Zanaco captain Rodger Kola later scored two goals before substitute Abraham Siankombo sealed the win with an the 84th minute.

Zanaco tops the league with 28 points after playing 16 matches.

At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Forest Rangers jumped into second position after a 1-0 victory over Green Eagles in Ndola.

Striker Quadri Kola scored the only goal that moved Forest to 28 points to remain behind Zanaco because of an inferior goal difference.
