Chililabombwe Municipal Council has closed down the newly constructed Chinese shop ZAM C.C Shopping Mall for operating illegally.
This follows after the inspection conducted by a team of Council Health Inspectors August 13, 2018.
Chililabombwe Municipal Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Chilufya Chungu confirmed this in a statement to The Independent Observer.
Ms Chungu said that the inspection revealed that the Shopping Mall was operating without an Occupational Certificate from the Local Authority.
She also said that the lighting and ventilation were inadequate.
Ms Chungu said those findings contravene Regulation 14 (1) (2), 43 (1) (3) and 44 (11) of the Public Health Building regulations of the Laws of Zambia.
She said the business premises will remain closed until the mentioned defects have been worked on to the satisfaction of the Local Authority.
The shopping mall is located in town center opposite Investrust Bank
