Kalulushi Municipal Council has disinfected all the 84 government schools in the district in readiness for Schools opening next week.
Kalulushi Council Assistant Public Relations Manager Lidah Kamanga said private schools in the district were provided with disinfectants.
Ms Kamanga said some were encouraged to procure the disinfectants and tasked to carry out disinfection of their own premises under the supervision of Council Health Inspectors.
She said the Local Authority begun disinfection of government schools on the 12th of January, 2021 and finished on the 22nd of January, 2021.
Ms Kamanga said the Council intends to carry out routine disinfection of the schools once they open as well as conduct periodic monitoring to ensure that all schools abide by covid 19 preventive measures.
