Chipolopolo just need at least a draw against Namibia in the last Group D match on Wednesday night in Limbe to reach the Cameroon 2021 CHAN quarterfinals.
Zambia is joint top of the group with Guinea on four points each after recording a win and draw in the first two matches.
With Namibia already out after losing the first two matches, Zambia must avoid losing to advance regardless of the result between Guinea and Tanzania in the other final Group D match on Wednesday.
Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has told a pre-match media briefing that Zambia won’t underrate Namibia.
“I know the Namibians are proud people and will be eager to come out with a good result against us. All we need to do is to be solid in defense, creative in the build-up and effective upfront because Namibia always defends with six players,” said Sredojevic.
Namibia coach Richard ‘Bobby’ Samaria wants his team to go home with some dignity after failing to score a goal so far at CHAN.
“We know the Zambian team well and we shall be hungry to score our first goals in the tournament,” said Samaria.
