Micho digests Zambia’s draw with Guinea

Chipolopolo coach Milutin Sredojevic has described as tough the Group D CHAN match against Guinea that finished 1-1 in Limbe, Cameroon on Saturday evening.

Zambia scored a late goal through substitute Spencer Sautu to secure a 1-1 draw as both teams remained joint top on four points each after two games played.

‘It has been a clash of titans,’ Micho told journalists during the post-match briefing.

‘We wanted to win but managed a draw against a strong Guinea team. I am happy that we created more scoring chances today than we did in our first game against Tanzania and the small details basically decided the match,’ he said.

Guinea coach Mohamed Kanfory Bangoura was pleased with the draw against Zambia.

‘I am satisfied with the draw because it places us in a good position going into the last group game against Tanzania,’ Bangoura said.

‘We got into the game with the strategy of dominating possession, but Zambia played well,’ he added.

Chipolopolo will face Namibia in their final group game at the Limbe Stadium on Wednesday while Guinea will be in Douala to face Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Tanzania beat Namibia 1-0 on Saturday night in the other Group D match.
