Cops ‘shoot’ Zesco United players

By Mulenga Chapoloko

Zesco United have missed a chance to go top of the FAZ Super Division table after succumbing to a 1-0 loss to Nkwazi in the midweek rescheduled match played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Striker Christopher Zulu scored the only goal that separated the two sides as Nkwazi recorded only their third win of the season.

Zulu scored via a penalty awarded by referee Michael Lyalabi when Simon Silwimba fouled Kenneth Kasanga in the box.

Nkwazi held on to the lead despite pressure from the home side as they went on to condemn Zesco to their third loss of the season.

Zesco who remain second on the table with 22 points after playing 13 matches would have displaced leaders Prison Leopards had they beaten Nkwazi.

The win has moved Nkwazi from 15th to 8th position on the table with 16 points from 12 matches played.
