Zesco unclamp ‘Kalampa’

Former champions Zesco United have moved into second position in the FAZZesco unclamp ‘Kalampa’ Super Division after overcoming Nkana 2-1 on Sunday in Wusakile, Kitwe.

Zesco have 22 points, one behind leaders Prison Leopards, after playing 12 matches.

Zega’s win at Nkana Stadium was engineered by Winston Kalengo and Thabani Kamusoko.

Nkana star striker Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba scored the consolation goal for Kalampa.

Kamusoko put Zesco in front after 19 minutes before Kampamba slotted in the equaliser nine minutes into the second half but Kalengo had the final say when scoring in the 81st minute.

Nkana drops into 13th place as they remain stuck on 14 points after playing 11 matches.

In the other league match played on Sunday, Green Eagles forced a 1-1 home draw against Young Green Eagles at Independence Stadium in Choma.

Green Eagles defender Boniface Sunzu scored an own goal with Shadreck Mulungwe netting the equaliser.
