Nchanga Rangers smell top spot Division One

By Mulenga Mukuka
Promotion contenders Nchanga Rangers are now two points away from the top of the FAZ National Division One after beating Kafue Celtic 2-1 at home in Chingola on Sunday afternoon.

Strikers Irvin Mulenga and Kunda Nkandu scored a goal each as Nchanga moved to 22 points, just two behind leaders Kansanshi Dynamos, after 12 matches played.

Mulenga put Nchanga in front after seven minutes before Nkandu doubled the lead at Nchanga Stadium three minutes later.

Celtic’s goal came late in the second half when James Chilimina came off the bench to slot in the face server.

Meanwhile, City of Lusaka are second on 23 points following Saturday’s goalless draw against leaders Kansanshi Dynamos at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

Konkola Blades recorded the biggest victory of the weekend in the National Division One after thumping Zesco Malaiti Rangers 3-1 at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

Elsewhere in this division, there were wins for Chambishi, Kabwe Youth and Gomes.
