New Konkola Blades coach Charles Chisala Bwale has spoken about the team’s target to win promotion back to the Super Division this season.
Blades are placed six on the FAZ National Division One table with 18 points, just five behind leaders Kansanshi Dynamos, after 11 matches played.
In an interview, Bwale, the former Zambia Under-20 coach, said concerted effort is needed for Blades to return to the top league.
“I think we just have one objective and that is to bring the team back to the Premier League. As you know Konkola Blades is a big name in Zambian football,” Bwale said.
Sharp Razor have collected four wins, one draw and one loss in their last six matches.
“I think the team needs to continue what it is doing currently and even doing it better.”
Bwale refused to claim the glory for Konkola’s improved performance in recent matches that has coincided with his arrival at the Chililabombwe side.
“A game of football is not a one man show so it is not possible that alone I can turn things around without other people,” he said.
“We have the sponsors, the executive, the technical bench, the players and supporters. We need to work together. Once we work together as a team things will be moving smoothly.”
Konkola are preparing to host Zesco Malaiti Rangers in their next fixture scheduled for Konkola Stadium on January 9.
