Man killed, as community riot

A 21-year-old man of Lusaka who went missing on Christmas day has been found dead in the mortuary alleged to have been killed by a foreign National.

And when the community caught wind of the death and what was being alleged, they descended on shops at the accused person’s shops at Mainado Complex and begun looting.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said has identified the victim as Moses Chisasa who went missing on Christmas day and was last seen drinking with a John Uwimana 35 a Foreign National Trading at Mainado Complex in Kuku Compound.

Ms Katongo said it was further reported that the missing person had a fight with the named foreign national.

She said a search was launched and Moses Chisasa, the person who was reported missing was found dead in the mortuary.

Ms Katongo said Officers rushed to the scene and order has been restored and they are still on the ground monitoring the situation.

She said a manhunt for the accused person who is on the run has been launched and investigations have been launched in both murder and looting of shops.

“No matter how aggrieved people maybe, they should restrain themselves from engaging in criminal activities such as looting. Those that took part in the looting risk being prosecuted once found,” she said.
