Loadshedding to reduce

Energy Minister Matthew Nhkuwa says the country is expected to see a major reduction in load-shedding hours due to the massive investment in energy Infrastructure and good rainfall pattern.

Mr Nhkuwa also says his ministry has received a number of applications from various investors that want to set up solar power plants to enable the country reduce the power deficit.

He says the power utility firm ZESCO also plans to set up six hundred megawatts of solar power plant.

Mr Nhkuwa noted that Kafue gorge lower will soon be operational and generate 750 megawatts of power which will further reduce load-shedding hours.
