Newly appointed Nkana coach Kelvin Kaindu started with a win.
Congolese striker Idris Mbombo scored two first half goals when Nkana overcame old rivals Kitwe United 2-0 at home in Wusakile in the local derby.
It was Nkana’s second straight win and winless Kitwe’s sixth loss of the season.
Nkana, who have two matches in hand, are 12th on the table with 11 points from eight matches played.
Leaders Buildcon missed a chance to go three points clear at the top of the FAZ Super Division after losing 2-1 to Forest Rangers in a midweek match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Buildcon gave away an early lead in the rescheduled Ndola local derby to lose to Forest.
Striker Emmanuel Okutu put Buildcon ahead after 12 minutes before Moro Amenu equalised in the 68th minute and Quadri Kola struck the winner 14 minutes away from full time.
Buildcon remain at the top because of superior goal difference as they are tied on 18 apiece with Ndola rivals Zesco United.
Forest moves into seventh place with 12 points from six matches.
In the other midweek rescheduled match, Power Dynamos forced a 2-2 draw against visiting Napsa Stars at Arthur Davies Stadium.
