Atlas Mara develops low cost wallet

Atlas Mara Bank says it has developed low cost electronic wallet aimed at bringing financial inclusion.

Speaking at the official re-launch of the Chingola branch, Atlas Mara Copperbelt Regional Manager Solomon Ng’ondo said that not everyone can afford to maintain a bank account.

Mr Ng’ondo said to ensure that everyone has a bank account; the bank has developed a low cost electronic wallet which is targeted at financial inclusion for many of the people with other various affordable services to support businesses.

He said financial services offer the general public the means to develop income generated activities and improve household incomes and living standard.

The bank has been relocated to its old building following the completion of refurbishments which gobbled K320, 000.

Since its establishment three years ago, the bank has established nine branches on the Copperbelt.

And Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo said Atlas Mara has continued to maintain the biggest branch and ATM network on the Copperbelt.

Mr Tembo said the support the bank rendered as the main sponsor at the Copperbelt Province expo 2019 made it a success.

He has applauded the bank for the refurbishments of the Chingola branch to give customers a good banking experience.

Mr Tembo has commanded the bank for the continued investment despite the socio-economic impact while some are closing doors.

The Mayor said Chingola is an important district for the country’s economic growth and development as it host one of the biggest mines in Zambia.

“We are delighted to hear about atlas Mara banks world class products and services and innovation for both business and retail customers which will go a long way in supporting and diversifying our predominantly mining economy.

He said Government is mindful that economic development can be achieved if a robust financial service environment is available.
