A 21- year old woman student at Chitambo College of Nursing in Central Province has allegedly been killed by her boyfriend and he later committed suicide.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said police in Chitambo received a report of murder from authorities at Chitambo College of Nursing that Mapalo Masiku a student nurse at the mentioned school was murdered by an unknown person.
Ms Katongo said the incident is reported to have occurred on December 13, 2020 between 1200 hours and 13 00 hours at a nearby bush within the school premises.
She said initial investigations indicated that the victim had a misunderstanding with Kaluwayo Mwika her boyfriend who had just completed school at the same College.
Ms Katongo said the suspect is believed to have called a friend to the victim to give direction to where the body was.
She said the body was found with injuries and was taken to Chitambo District Hospital mortuary.
Ms Katongo said the police today December 14, 2020 received information that the suspect has committed suicide.
