Chingola MP implores constituents to register as voters

Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa has implored the constituents countrywide to register as voters.

Speaking with The Independent Observer this morning, Mr Nkhuwa said the voter registration exercise empowers the voter with the deciding right of who they want to hold electoral office.

He said that in as much as the exercise is nonpartisan, but it empowers every citizen with right to put office bearers in political offices.

Mr Nkhuwa who is also Energy Minister said those that opt not to register as voters should not complain of being defranchised when time of voting comes.

“In the delivery of democracy, this is a very important exercise and every citizen that votes must realise that the choosing right begins with voter registration,” he said.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set today November 9, 2020 as a start date for Voter Registration exercise which is expected to end on December 13, 2020.
