Dear Editor,
I write to complain about the drainage that has been blocked by Chimwemwe Member of Parliament Mwila Mutale.
Chimwemwe’s biggest and oldest drainage passes behind the my perimeter wall.
This is the drainage that carries the entire rainy floods and sewer from blocked sewer pipes into the Mindolo stream.
The MP has buried this drainage and created plots on top of it.
http://I write to complain about the drainage that has been blocked by Chimwemwe Member of Parliament Mwila Mutale.
The problem is that with the rains that came on October 8, all the floods from Chimwemwe came and filled my wall fenced yard, forming a dam and consequently collapsing it.
Two months prior to the incident, I warned the man who co-owns the newly created plots over the buried drainage that if they don’t leave some form of passage for water and floods from the rains there was going to be a disaster as soon as it rained, and sure to my words we have a collapsed wall fence.
On October 9, after the fence collapsed, we went with my Neighbour whose house was also flooded to see the MP and he promised that he’d have everything fixed the following week.
This has never happened up to now.
Despite me writing twice to demand for action from Honourable Mutale he has remained mute and paid no attention at all.
This is very disappointing the cost of rebuilding the wall fence is about K15, 000 and I feel the MP should help in rebuilding because he is the one who buried and built on to of the drainage.
Otherwise I will have no choice but to seek legal redress.
Just how can I deal with this MP Mwebantu, who seems oblivious to all the problems he has created for us?
I feel I have no choice but maybe to just seek legal redress.
