Chililabombwe Deputy Mayor Gift Musukwa says the local authority has embarked on an exercise of drainage unblocking creating new ones in the district and at Kasumbalesa boarder.
Mr Musukwa said that drainages are a problem at the border especially in the rain season hence the exercise before the rains come.
He said the council will be unblocking the old drainages and also creating new ones for passage of water and waste.
Mr Musukwa said that unblocking drainages and creating new ones will make the roads sustainable.
He has appeared to the people not to throw garbage generated from homes into the drainages as drainages are bleeding ground for mosquitoes.
