Copperbelt PF Mobilisation team Chairperson Bowman Lusambo this afternoon charmed Chingola voters who had turned up in large numbers to listen to the message of hope.
And artists Chester, Yo Maps and the boys of the moment Chanda na K from the Abanyoli nyoli fame where at hand to provide the exquisite entertainment for the multitude that had trooped Chingola’s Kaunda Square in Chiwempala.
Speaking Mr Lusambo said Chingola is a mining town and everything evolve around Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) no wonder President Edgar Lungu did not hesitate to part ways with Vedanta when the company failed to run KCM.
He said the coronavirus lockdown had delayed the sale of KCM to the new suitor and was hopeful, President Lungu would provide update soon.
He said President Lungu hears the cries of Chingola and he quickly attend to them.
Among the problems Chingola had were the dilapidated roads which have been worked and the KCM saga he said will soon be solved.
However, Mr Lusambo regretted that some people from Lusaka were getting jobs from KCM at the expense of Copperbelt residents.
He said the Provisional Liquidator Milingo Lungu would be talked to ensure that Copperbelt residents are given priority over the jobs in KCM.
He said once KCM is given to a new investor, more jobs will be created and current employees will first have to be given gratuity and then be re-engaged to ensure that Zambians are not tagged to old employment contracts.
Mr Lusambo who is also Copperbelt Minister implored the two parliamentarians in Chingola Chali Chilombo for Nchanga and his counterpart for Chingola Matthew Nkhuwa to ensure that mealie meal prices are reduced to normal.
And Mr Nkhuwa who is also Energy Minister retaliated his remarks that load shedding will end by March next.
The Minister said building a power station is a major project which has taken over five years to be completed on Kafue George Lower.
Meanwhile, Mr Chilombo boasted that President Lungu had granted Chingola the aspirations of what they wanted to be done.
Mr Lusambo was accompanied his deputy Kunda Chani, Luanshya and Chifubu Members of Parliament Stephen Chungu and Frank Ng’ambi respectively and other member of the Copperbelt Mobilisation tem.
