Chagwa cycles with Fire Baptist churc

By JOHN SAKALA
President Edgar Lungu has donated 10 bicycles and K15, 000 cash to Fire Baptist church in Chingola.

The donation is to help the church located in Mambili area along Solwezi road in glorifying God and His works.

The church through Reverend Alfred Chitupila requested for the help of the bicycles from President Lungu for evangelism purposes.

The church also requested for funds to construct the office for the church.

And yesterday, President Lungu sent Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa to deliver both the bicycles and the money using the Presidential Empowerment Fund.

Speaking during the handover,  Mr Nkhuwa said Mr Lungu is a God fearing President who wants to help the church in the advancing of God’s work.

He said when the church requested for bicycles, President Lungu directed him to buy unbranded new bicycles and hand them over to the church.

“When we have spiritual problems we run to the church. It is our request that you continue receiving us when we have problems and we come to you because as politicians our solace depends on the church and you men of God,” he said.

And Rev Chitupila said when he was making a request he had full hope of favourable response because he has seen how God loving President Lungu is.

He said mobility for the evengalizers was difficult and the bicycles will help to glorify God’s name.

Meanwhile, a female Congregant Victoria Mwansa who stays in Lulamba which is about 30 kilometres away said the bicycles will help her in trekking to church where she is assigned.

Ms Mwansa said it was costly for her to hike from Lulamba to where the church is.

The total cost for the 10 bicycles was over K18, 000.
