Two children of the same family in Kazungula have died in an inferno while one sustained several burns on her body after the maize barn they were in caught fire.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said the fire is alleged to have been started when an 11-year-old boy aged of the same house lit a match stick and suddenly fire engulfed the maize barn.
Mr Chilabi identified the victims as Blessings Mulala one year and four months and Cecilia Kanyoze 5, While another aged 10-year old sustained serious burns.
He said the incident occurred on 20th August,2020 at Inonge Village in Kazungula District.
Mr Chilabi said the child who survived is admitted to Livingstone Central Hospital and the bodies of the deceased have since been buried.
