President Lungu mourns Chief Mushima Mubambe Luputa

President Edgar Lungu is saddened at the death of Chief Mushima Mubambe Luputa the 14th of the Kaonde People in Mufumbwe District who died on 8th August, 2020.

President Lungu who conveyed the message through Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection Minister, Jonas Chanda, has wished the Royal Family God’s comfort and strength.

Dr Chanda who is touring water supply and sanitation projects in North Western Province said this when he called on the sitting – in Chief Mushima Mubambe Luputa the 15th at his palace in Mufumbwe District.

He said the Head of State wants the people of Mufumbwe not to be left behind in terms of development.

Dr Chanda said it is for this reason that Government is implementing a 12 million Kwacha water supply project in the district which will benefit close to 3, 600 people.

He said the project which is nearly complete is expected to be commissioned soon.

And the Chief has expressed gratitude for the love and respect that the PF Government has shown during the period of mourning.

The Chief said the chiefdom is indebted to Government and will continue to support the Government of the day adding that chiefdoms are part of the executive.

And Dr. Chanda also called on Chief Mukumbi Chizela of Mufumbwe District

Chief Mukumbi Chizela who spoke through a representative said the chiefdom is in support of Government’s development activities being undertaken by the PF Government.

Chief Chizela has since appealed to President Lungu to help in resolving some of the pressing issues. Namely: the shifting of the Provincial Capital from Solwezi to Mufumbwe: and the opening of Kalengwa Mine by Moxico resources.
