Zesco shuts Head office over Covid-19

Zesco has closed its head office to help enhance coronavirus (Covid
-19) preventive measures.

In a statement made available to The Independent, Zesco Public Relations Officer Hazel Zulu said the main offices situated along great East Road in Lusaka will be shut down for three
days.

Ms Zulu said the shut down is effective on Wednesday August 12, 2020 in order to enhance Covid-19 preventive measures such as fumigation of the premises in line with guidance provided by the Ministry of Health.

She said the shutdown is to safeguard the health of company employees customers, and in contributing to mitigating the
spread of the pandemic in the country.

“The corporation will continue to operate under strict
preventive guidelines as recommended by the Ministry of Health. We have since urged customers to maximize the use of our various online digital platforms to purchase electricity units as well as the use of the Zesco Mobile Application and the USSD Code *3600# to access other services .

“As a corporation, we care about the wellbeing of our employees and customers hence the
need for us to ensure that we heighten preventive measures at our offices,” she said.
