ZESCO says the loss of 130 megawatts of power from Maamba Collieries has not yet affected the hours of load-shedding.
Company Senior Manager for Corporate Affairs, John Kunda said this is because the country is still experiencing level three load shedding of between 8 and 12 hours per day.
Dr Kunda said the power utility company will only determine whether load shedding hours will increase after assessments to the damaged unit are concluded at Maamba Collieries.
He said that ZESCO officials are working with their counterparts at Maamba Collieries to rectify the fault.
