Action by UPND in Monze was disprectful-Don Mungulube

By JOHN SAKALA
Copperbelt Youth Chairperson Don Mungulube says the action by UPND in Monze was disrespectful on President Edgar Lungu.

UPND youths in Monze had yesterday lined up along airport road which President Lungu’s motorcade was using and flashed out UPND symbols on him.

Speaking with The Independent Observer, Mungulube said the youths on the Copperbelt are very disappointed with how the UPND leadership acted in Monze during a two day visit of President Lungu

“We want to remind our colleagues that President Lungu is not only the President for Patriotic Front but also President for the entire country including Southern Province.

“The Zambia we want as youths is that which has no boundaries or divisions because of region, religion, ethnicity, tribes or language. We want to leave under the umbrella of one Zambia, one Nation as founded by our forefathers,” he said.

He said the actions by Monze Member of Parliament Jack Mwimbu is a serious threat to democracy of the Nation.

Mr Mungulube said Mr Lungu had visited different parts of Southern Province and other areas, yet there have never been such acts of terror.

“We Mr Mwimbu to learn from other MPs, who take advantage of the presence of the Head Of State to resolve most of the problems there are having in there constituencies instead of causing anarchy.

“As youths on the Copperbelt we will not watch while selfish politicians who don’t mean well for the Zambian people destroy the peace , unity and oneness we have enjoyed for 56yrs since Independence.

“The Zambian people are watching and have seen how desperate you have become just to be President of Zambia, your desperation has reached an alarming stage which now calls for all well meaning Zambians to condemn the events that happened in Monze. We are strongly warning and demanding UPND President Hakinde Hichilema to condemn the savagery, barbaric actions by his cadres in Monze,” he said.

Mr Mungulube also advised the youths of Monze not to accept being used as political tools of violence and hatred.

He said the youths in Monze should direct there energies towards forming of business cooperatives and take advantage of the empowerment packages President Lungu has put in place for the youths especially that Monze is an Agricultural Area
