Join cooperatives, Nsansa Councillor urges women

Nsansa Ward Councillor Benson Tonge has called on women in his ward to join cooperative clubs to alleviate poverty at household level.

Mr Tonge said belonging to a community group has benefits of learning entrepreneurship skills to fight poverty.

He said times are hard to sit home doing nothing but in these groups women acquire business skill that enables them to take care of their families.

Mr Tonge was speaking at a meeting where three Women’s Cooperative club in is ward received Certificates of operations.

He urged women to be united and work as a team in Co-operative duties in order to achieve their goal.

He expressed gratitude toward the members for the commitment shown from inception up to the time of issuing the certificates.

The Councillor gave each group K500 to open up Bank accounts.
And Chingola Cooperative Officer Muma Chashi told the Co-operatives to be open in their operations and adhere to the constitution of the clubs.

Nsansa is one of the 10 wards of Nchanga Constituency. All the 10 wards are under the ruling PF.
