…G9 pupil takes own life

A grade Nine pupil of Nemfwe Primary School in Choma identified as Ostern Katapazi 15, committed suicide by hanging himself in the kitchen.
The incident happened today at 06:00 hours at Nambole village in Choma.
Acting Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale said the scene was visited and there is no play foul on the teen.
Mr Mwale said the girl was found hanging on a rope.
He said the body is in Macha Mission Hospital Mortuary awaiting burial.
In a related development, a man identified as Lettour Mwemba aged 30 of Chandamali Compound of Choma committed suicide by hanging himself in the sitting room.
“Police visited the scene of the incident and found the body hanging on a piece of cloth.
The wife was away nursing her sick father at the time the incident happened.
“Body has is in the mortuary at Choma General hospital awaiting burial,” he said.
