Chingola District Commissioner Agnes Tonga together with Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo this morning toured milling outlets to check the mealie meal situation in the district.
Ms Tonga said the mealie-meal situation in the district has stabilized compared to the past few weeks were people had to que up the situation has gone back to normal.
The DC said this after her tour of fact finding when she went through antelope milling outlets with the Mayor.
Ms Tonga said that all the outlet has stocks of mealie meal and people are not queuing for the commodity.
She said that she is now satisfied with the situation and commended antelope milling for the stocks.
She said that she is looking forward for the prices of mealie-meal to go down since they is enough stock.
Ms Tonga said other Miller’s should emulate antelope and partner with government
Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo said that people are now coming into the shops and buying freely unlike the past few weeks people where standing in long ques.
Mr Tembo also called on residents to go to major outlets when they are shortages because these others exaggerated prices.
