Nkhuwa fumes over vandalized police post

By Staff Writer
Chingola Member of Parliament Matthew Nkhuwa is disappointed that the newly constructed Chikola Police Post has been vandalized.

Mr Nkhuwa is also upset with the poor workmanship exhibited by the contractor of the project.

Speaking when he toured the un-commissioned Chikola Police Post, Mr Nkhuwa said the levels of negligence on government money is alarming.

He said Chingola Municipal Council as the custodian of Constituency Development Fund had selected the contractor to build the police post but the local authority seems to have failed to supervise the contractor thereby doing a shoddy job.

Mr Nkhuwa who is also Energy Minister said all the interior doors were stolen and some glass pens were broken whereas the outdoor grass had equally overgrown making it appear like an abandoned project.

He left K1, 000 with Chiwempala Officer-In-Charge Nelson Yulu to hire people to slash around the police post.

The MP promised to meet both Chingola Town Clerk Mutakela Kabombo and Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo to ensure that the contractor redo the jobs before handing over the project.
