Covid-19 cases increase to 36

Zambia has recorded one more positive case for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours bringing the number to 36.

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said the new case involves a 69-year-old Male who travelled to Pakistan.

Dr Chilufya said his Ministry will tomorrow announce other results of the 65 samples that have been taken for testing.

He said the Ministry has screened over 4 thousand travellers and contacts so far of which 974 people completed the quarantine and have since been discharged.

The Minister said this during the online council of Ministers meeting held by Vice President Inonge Wina.

Dr Chilufya said there is need to intensify measures to address the spread of the virus.

Ms Wina urged Ministers to come up with recommendations on how best the country can eradicate the corona virus which she described as an enemy.

She said there is need to come up with new strategies to fight the corona virus which is on the increase.
