Corona Virus (Convid 19) has been declared as an epidemic by the world health organization.
Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya says government has expressed concern in ensuring that measures to prevent Corona virus are put in place.
Dr Chilufya has revealed that 171335 cases have been recorded worldwide, 7130 deaths have been recorded while 10, 000 are dying daily.
He says 10 deaths have been recorded in Africa and Zambia has not recorded any case yet.
He says Statutory Instrument number 22 which was issued on 14th March, 2020 mandates that screening will be done.
Dr Chilufya says they are working hand in hand with all airlines to ensure that pre-depature screening is conducted.
He has also stated that schools will close this Friday 20th March, 2020.
