The Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- has impounded four trucks allegedly carrying imported goods suspected to have been under-valued at Chanida border in Eastern Province.
The trucks were impounded yesterday around Chongwe district by officers from the Inspectorate Customs and Enforcement unit of ZRA, who were on patrol.
This was after Chongwe District Commissioner Robster Mwanza intercepted the trucks following a tip-off from a resident of Chalimbana area.
Mr Mwanza said the resident became suspicious after the drivers of the trucks branched off the Great East Road into the Chalimbana-Katoba road and parked the trucks near a named bar.
Mr Mwanza said the four trucks were carrying goods valued at over 3- hundred and 17 thousand kwacha which are suspected to be less than the actual value of the goods.
