Bishop Kazhila’s case fails to take off

By JOHN SAKALA
The matter in which Life Gospel Fellowship Ministries Church International General Overseer Bishop Joseph Kazhila is charged with seditious intentions failed to take off yesterday.

The matter couldn’t take off because the state was not ready and Kazhila’s legal Counsel Oswald Hatimbula of VN Michelo and Partners had asked for adjournment.

The matter which is before Resident Magistrate Stephen Mabona was adjourned to February 21, 2020 for possible commencement of trial.

Kazhila 61, was arrested on January 24, 2020 for seditious intentions.

Particulars of the offence are that Kazhila, of plot number 4471B of Chingola’s Riverside did incite violence when he called on residents of Chingola on local radio station to arm and defend themselves against ritual killers.

He is on bail.
